August 9th – 14th Sydney Opera House

No trip to Sydney is complete without a visit to the Sydney Opera House. In August one of the greatest tenors in the world will perform Wagner’s final opera Parsifal. This is a return of Jonas Kaufmann to Sydney to perform this most challenging piece.

Bledisloe Cup Festival

August 19th – Sydney Olympic Park

Perhaps the greatest rugby rivalry in the world, Australia versus New Zealand. To celebrate the clash between the Wallabies and the All Blacks there is a festival of rugby that is a week long.
The action packed week will feature a celebrity lunch, a golf day and an Australian Turf Club meeting at Rosehill Racecourse.

Golden Rose Day

September 9th – Parramatta

September the 9th is the opening day of the 2017 Sydney Spring Carnival. Golden Rose day starts with the first Group One race of the season, namely the Group One Golden Rose Stakes with a prize money of AUD 1 million.

For the racegoers before and after the racing there will be plenty of entertainment including a live DJ, and many food and drink stalls.

Sydney Running Festival

September 17th – North Sydney

The Blackmores Sydney Running Festival attracts over 33,000 runners from all over the globe. The marathon is renowned to take place on one of the most scenic courses in the world.

The popularity of this event brings both international and local elite athletes to run the marathon.

There are actually four events that all cross Sydney Harbour Bridge which all finish at the world famous and iconic Sydney Opera House.

Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge

October 13th & 14th – West Sydney

If you are attending one motor sport event in Sydney this year then you cannot go much wrong with the Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge. Teams from around the world will try and set the fastest times at this two day event.

The WTAC is all about racing against the clock endurance style, and after the day finishes the action does not stop there as the world’s top drifters go head to head under the artificial lights, in an exciting no holds barred drift competition.
