Women’s Rugby League World Cup

Sydney plays host to the all the preliminary games and the semi-finals of the Women’s Rugby League World Cup. The final will be held in Brisbane on Saturday 2nd of December.

Australia will face England and the Cook Islands in Pool A, whilst in Pool B, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Canada face off against each other. This wonderful event will take place simultaneously as the men’s world cup is held elsewhere in Australia. Interestingly it will be the first time that both the men’s and the women’s finals will be held on the same day.

Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race

Double Bay 26th December

The annual Boxing Day yacht race once again takes place in Double Bay as the Sydney – Hobart Yacht Race starts on the waters of Sydney Harbour.

The race will leave Double Bay, out in the Tasman Sea, Storm Bay and the Derwent River. This event has become a highly popular spectator event and well and truly heralds that Summer has arrived.

In fact this yacht race sponsored by Rolex is as popular as the Melbourne Cup, Davis Cup tennis and Ashes tests. The race takes place over 628 nautical miles until it reaches the finish line in the Derwent River in Hobart.
