North Sydney Suburbs – The Northern Beaches

There are five districts in North Sydney and they comprise North Shore, Northern Beaches, Hills District, Forest District and Northern Suburbs. These five districts are further split into many suburbs almost too numerous to mention.

A great way to visit Northern Beaches if you are in a large group is by coach charter, and First Choice Charters provide excellent bus and coach services to the Northern Beaches.

In this blog we concentrate on the Northern Beaches which consists of Manly, Pittwater and Warringah.

Manly

Known as the gateway to the Northern Beaches why not start your trip to the area by a ferry ride across Sydney Harbour to Manly Wharf. Manley will start your Northern Beaches experience in some style.

Manley has some great restaurants and cafes, many situated on the waterfront with superb views. All things in Manley are connected to the Manly Corso which is the central point of this great suburb.

The Corso is partly pedestrianised and lined with popular surf shops, great fashion and retail outlets, busy pubs and chic restaurants.

And the piste de resistance is of course Manly Beach with North Steyne and South Steyne Reserves.

Pittwater

If you love the outdoor life and enjoy boating, sailing, kayaking and fishing then Pittwater is the ideal location for you. There is also great Aboriginal rock art and engravings to study in the Ku-ring-gai National Park.

Pittwater offers some superb walks, where you can stop off along the way to enjoy some delicious local food and drink in the many waterside restaurants and cafes with splendid views.

A trip along to Barrenjoey Head at the far end of Palm Beach is thoroughly recommended, and you can even take a trip in a seaplane from Rose Bay that will offer spectacular aerial views.

Warringah

Warringah offers some great shopping and at its heart is the Westfield Mall, a visit to Westfield is guaranteed to have something of interest for every shopaholic. With over three hundred stores and outlets this mall is stacked full of lifestyle and fashion stores.

Westfield is much more than a shoppers paradise, there is also stunning outdoor architecture that provides plenty of resting places that you can relax and take a well earned break from the stores.

As well as great stores there are plenty of good dining experiences in Westfield Mall including, Lok Lok Dumpling Bar, Rozzi’s Italian Canteen, Time for Thai, Ali Baba, Mad Mex, Hokka Hokka, and Sushi Crew.

The Northern Beaches has something for everybody, great outdoor entertainment and delicious local food served in top restaurants and cafes. Superb walks and interesting cultural activities to partake of.
