Christmas Shopping Trips

As the festive period looms closer, Sydney is getting prepared for the influx of Yuletide shoppers about to descend on the city.

One of the best ways to ensure that your excursion goes to plan is by using a coach charter or minibus hire with driver. First Choice Charters have the perfect vehicles to suit an inner city shopping spree, and our local drivers know their way around Sydney better than any other.

In this blog we look at some of the fantastic Christmas markets in and around Sydney.

The Brewery Yard Christmas Market

Taking over the Central Park Living Mall on the 3rd & 4th of December is the Brewery Yard Christmas Market.

Adding a modern twist to the traditional Christmas fayre there will be hip-hop carollers, art demos, and 50 different stalls selling everything from Bavarian treats to arts and crafts perfect for Christmas gifts.

Paddington Christmas Market

Held in the historic Paddington Uniting Church, this market is ideal for unique stocking fillers that nobody else would possibly have. The stalls sell a mixture of bespoke handicrafts, and all manner of Christmas related treats.

Carriageworks Twilight Christmas Market

Now in its third year, the Carriageworks Twilight Christmas Market is the new kid on the block. The Carriageworks is renown as one of the best Farmer’s Market in Sydney, and this is its Christmas brother.

The focus is on seasonal produce, ideal for the ingredients for your Christmas and Boxing Days Dinners. The market is held two days before Christmas Day and is also perfect for last minute presents, trees and decorations.

Sydney Fish Market

Opening at 5am on the 23rd December, the Sydney Fish Market holds a 36-hour seafood marathon. This well established Christmas tradition has now been held for over twenty years.
Basically it is a 36-hour seafood shopping bonanza and perhaps your final chance to grab the freshest seafood around to impress your family over Christmas. Don’t despair if you prefer more traditional fayre to adorn your Christmas lunchtime table as turkeys, hams and cold meats are also all available at the market.

Kirribilli Market

One of the longest established and most loved markets in Sydney, Kirribilli Market was founded in 1976 has has been serving the good people of Sydney ever since.

Every week the market alternates between a general market to that of an art, fashion and designer goods type. From the second weekend in December only the general market takes place, and is a great place for Christmas essentials.

The Christmas Markets are perfect to stock up on those vital ingredients that make every Christmas Dinner a family celebration, and also to take the opportunity to buy those last minute presents that you always seem to forget.
